  光明壯(zhuang)麗(li)我周邦!登(deng)上巍巍高山上,高山小(xiao)丘相(xiang)連綿(mian),千(qian)支萬流(liu)入河(he)淌。普天(tian)之下(xia)眾神靈,齊聚(ju)這里(li)享祭祀,大(da)周受命永久長(chang)!

  鑒賞

  《詩經·周(zhou)頌(song)》所載(zai)《大武》樂章(zhang)歌(ge)詩六首(shou),它(ta)們反映的是周(zhou)朝初年一系列重大歷史事件,在(zai)敘(xu)事上具有(you)紀實性和連續(xu)性。六首(shou)都有(you)相(xiang)應的歌(ge)舞形態,其首(shou)尾(wei)系序幕(mu)和謝幕(mu),主體(ti)部(bu)分是中間四段。

  《大武(wu)(wu)(wu)》的(de)(de)(de)樂曲(qu)早已(yi)失傳,雖有零星的(de)(de)(de)資料(liao),但終難具體描述。然其舞(wu)(wu)蹈形式則(ze)留下了一(yi)(yi)(yi)些(xie)粗略的(de)(de)(de)記錄,可(ke)以作(zuo)大概的(de)(de)(de)描繪(hui)。第(di)(di)一(yi)(yi)(yi)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang),在(zai)經過一(yi)(yi)(yi)番(fan)擂鼓(gu)之(zhi)(zhi)后,為首的(de)(de)(de)舞(wu)(wu)者扮(ban)演(yan)周武(wu)(wu)(wu)王(wang)(wang),頭(tou)戴冕冠出場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang),手(shou)持干(gan)戚,山立不動(dong)(dong)(dong)。其余(yu)六十多位舞(wu)(wu)者扮(ban)武(wu)(wu)(wu)士陸續上場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang),長時間(jian)詠(yong)嘆(tan)后退場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)。這一(yi)(yi)(yi)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)舞(wu)(wu)蹈動(dong)(dong)(dong)作(zuo)是(shi)表(biao)(biao)示(shi)武(wu)(wu)(wu)王(wang)(wang)率(lv)兵北(bei)(bei)渡盟(meng)津(jin),等待諸(zhu)(zhu)侯(hou)會(hui)師(shi),八百(bai)諸(zhu)(zhu)侯(hou)會(hui)合(he)之(zhi)(zhi)后,急于作(zuo)戰,而周武(wu)(wu)(wu)王(wang)(wang)以為伐紂的(de)(de)(de)時機尚不成(cheng)熟,經過商(shang)討終于罷(ba)兵的(de)(de)(de)事實(shi)。第(di)(di)二(er)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)主演(yan)者扮(ban)姜(jiang)太(tai)公(gong)(gong),率(lv)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者手(shou)持干(gan)戈,奮臂擊刺,猛烈頓足。他們一(yi)(yi)(yi)擊一(yi)(yi)(yi)刺,做四(si)次重復,表(biao)(biao)示(shi)武(wu)(wu)(wu)王(wang)(wang)命(ming)太(tai)公(gong)(gong)率(lv)敢(gan)死隊闖犯敵陣(zhen)進行挑戰,武(wu)(wu)(wu)王(wang)(wang)率(lv)大軍(jun)進攻,迅速獲勝(sheng),威(wei)振(zhen)中原(yuan)。第(di)(di)三場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者由(you)面向北(bei)(bei)轉而向南,表(biao)(biao)示(shi)周師(shi)凱(kai)旋返回鎬京。第(di)(di)四(si)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)開始時,眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者混亂(luan)(luan)爭斗,扮(ban)周、召二(er)公(gong)(gong)的(de)(de)(de)舞(wu)(wu)者出而制(zhi)止,于是(shi)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者皆左(zuo)膝跪地,表(biao)(biao)示(shi)周成(cheng)王(wang)(wang)即位之(zhi)(zhi)后,東方和南方發(fa)生叛亂(luan)(luan),周、召二(er)公(gong)(gong)率(lv)兵平亂(luan)(luan)的(de)(de)(de)事實(shi)。第(di)(di)五(wu)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang),眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者分成(cheng)左(zuo)右兩大部分,周公(gong)(gong)在(zai)左(zuo)、召公(gong)(gong)在(zai)右,振(zhen)動(dong)(dong)(dong)鈴鐸,鼓(gu)勵眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者前進,表(biao)(biao)示(shi)成(cheng)王(wang)(wang)命(ming)周公(gong)(gong)鎮守(shou)東南,命(ming)召公(gong)(gong)鎮守(shou)西北(bei)(bei)。第(di)(di)六場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang),眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)舞(wu)(wu)者恢(hui)復第(di)(di)一(yi)(yi)(yi)場(chang)(chang)(chang)(chang)的(de)(de)(de)位置,作(zuo)閱兵慶典和尊(zun)崇天(tian)子(zi)成(cheng)王(wang)(wang)的(de)(de)(de)動(dong)(dong)(dong)作(zuo),表(biao)(biao)示(shi)周公(gong)(gong)平亂(luan)(luan)以后,慶祝天(tian)下太(tai)平,各地諸(zhu)(zhu)侯(hou)尊(zun)崇周天(tian)子(zi)。

  《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》六(liu)(liu)成(cheng)對應六(liu)(liu)詩(shi),據《毛(mao)詩(shi)序》“《武(wu)(wu)》,奏《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》也(ye)(ye)”、“《酌》,告成(cheng)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》也(ye)(ye)”的(de)說(shuo)明及《左(zuo)傳(chuan)·宣公十(shi)二(er)年(nian)》所(suo)記楚王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)言“武(wu)(wu)王克(ke)商,……又作《武(wu)(wu)》,其(qi)(qi)卒章(zhang)曰:‘耆定(ding)(ding)爾功。’其(qi)(qi)三曰:‘鋪時(shi)繹(yi)思,我徂維(wei)求定(ding)(ding)。’其(qi)(qi)六(liu)(liu)曰:‘綏萬邦,屢豐年(nian)。”則可確(que)定(ding)(ding)四(si)篇(pian)(pian)(pian),另兩篇(pian)(pian)(pian),王國維(wei)認為(wei)(wei)其(qi)(qi)中一(yi)篇(pian)(pian)(pian)即(ji)此篇(pian)(pian)(pian)《般》,他(ta)并且認為(wei)(wei)它當(dang)是(shi)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》六(liu)(liu)成(cheng)的(de)歌(ge)詩(shi),說(shuo):“《酌》《桓》《賚(lai)》《般》四(si)篇(pian)(pian)(pian),次(ci)在《頌(song)》末,又皆取詩(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)義以名篇(pian)(pian)(pian),前三篇(pian)(pian)(pian)既為(wei)(wei)《武(wu)(wu)》(指《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》樂(le)(le)(le)舞,非《周(zhou)(zhou)頌(song)》中之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)《武(wu)(wu)》篇(pian)(pian)(pian))詩(shi),則后(hou)一(yi)篇(pian)(pian)(pian)亦宜然(ran),……至(zhi)其(qi)(qi)次(ci)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di),則《毛(mao)詩(shi)》與(yu)楚樂(le)(le)(le)歌(ge)不同,楚以《賚(lai)》為(wei)(wei)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)三,《桓》為(wei)(wei)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)六(liu)(liu),毛(mao)則六(liu)(liu)篇(pian)(pian)(pian)分居三處,其(qi)(qi)次(ci)則《夙(su)夜》(王氏認為(wei)(wei)即(ji)《昊天有成(cheng)命》)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)一(yi),《武(wu)(wu)》第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)二(er),《酌》第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)三,《桓》第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)四(si),《賚(lai)》第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)五(wu),《般》第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)六(liu)(liu),此殆(dai)古之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)次(ci)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di),……與(yu)《樂(le)(le)(le)記》所(suo)紀舞次(ci)相(xiang)合(he)(he)。……《般》云:‘於(wu)皇時(shi)周(zhou)(zhou),陟其(qi)(qi)高(gao)山。’則與(yu)‘六(liu)(liu)成(cheng)復綴(zhui)以崇’(《樂(le)(le)(le)記》中語)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事(shi)相(xiang)合(he)(he),是(shi)毛(mao)詩(shi)次(ci)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)與(yu)《樂(le)(le)(le)記》同,恐是(shi)周(zhou)(zhou)初舊第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di),勝楚樂(le)(le)(le)歌(ge)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)次(ci)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(《左(zuo)傳(chuan)》所(suo)引(yin)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)次(ci)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di))遠(yuan)矣。”(《周(zhou)(zhou)大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)樂(le)(le)(le)章(zhang)考(kao)》)但高(gao)亨(heng)認為(wei)(wei)王氏之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)見(jian)過于相(xiang)信毛(mao)詩(shi)篇(pian)(pian)(pian)次(ci),他(ta)確(que)定(ding)(ding)《般》是(shi)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》四(si)成(cheng)的(de)歌(ge)詩(shi),指出從詩(shi)中所(suo)述,表明“周(zhou)(zhou)朝廣大(da)(da)(da)的(de)疆(jiang)土(tu),有小(xiao)山大(da)(da)(da)山,有小(xiao)河大(da)(da)(da)河,普天之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)下(xia)包括當(dang)時(shi)的(de)邊疆(jiang),都(dou)遵奉周(zhou)(zhou)朝的(de)命令,很明顯是(shi)中國統一(yi)的(de)景(jing)象(xiang),是(shi)征服南國后(hou)的(de)景(jing)象(xiang)”,既然(ran)“詩(shi)的(de)內容(rong)和《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》舞第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)四(si)場所(suo)象(xiang)征的(de)故事(shi)如此相(xiang)符合(he)(he),那(nei)末《般》篇(pian)(pian)(pian)是(shi)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》舞第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)四(si)場所(suo)唱,是(shi)《大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)》詩(shi)的(de)第(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)(di)四(si)章(zhang),也(ye)(ye)是(shi)很明顯的(de)”(《周(zhou)(zhou)代大(da)(da)(da)武(wu)(wu)樂(le)(le)(le)考(kao)釋(shi)》)。

  《大(da)(da)武》四成的(de)舞蹈(dao)是(shi)表(biao)現(xian)周(zhou)公東征(zheng)平亂、至于江南的(de)事跡的(de)。作為《大(da)(da)武》四成的(de)歌詩,《周(zhou)頌·般》和《周(zhou)頌·武》一(yi)樣,是(shi)四言七句,語言雖(sui)然非(fei)常簡(jian)練,但是(shi)用(yong)了“高”“喬”“敷”“裒”等表(biao)示(shi)空(kong)(kong)間(jian)之大(da)(da)的(de)字眼,用(yong)了最能體現(xian)空(kong)(kong)間(jian)感的(de)山峰(feng)河流(liu)來(lai)實化這種象征(zheng)、隱喻(yu)周(zhou)室偉大(da)(da)的(de)空(kong)(kong)間(jian)之大(da)(da),便(bian)具(ju)有一(yi)種雄渾(hun)的(de)氣魄,體現(xian)了圣王天下(xia)一(yi)統(tong)的(de)恢宏之勢(shi)。

  起首一句(ju)“於(wu)皇時周(zhou)(zhou)”,就(jiu)是(shi)在(zai)贊(zan)嘆周(zhou)(zhou)朝(chao)。因為(wei)周(zhou)(zhou)代既是(shi)第一個(ge)以“華(hua)夏”自(zi)稱的(de)(de)朝(chao)代,對中(zhong)國文(wen)(wen)化影響(xiang)深遠,又是(shi)孔子所(suo)終身向往的(de)(de)“郁郁乎文(wen)(wen)哉(zai),吾從周(zhou)(zhou)”的(de)(de)禮樂之邦的(de)(de)完(wan)美典范,因而,后(hou)世在(zai)讀到和用到這(zhe)些含有(you)“周(zhou)(zhou)”字(zi)的(de)(de)古文(wen)(wen)時,就(jiu)可以直接將(jiang)周(zhou)(zhou)王朝(chao)代入為(wei)是(shi)屬(shu)于中(zhong)華(hua)民族(zu)共有(you)的(de)(de)國度風范。

  “陟其高山”,登(deng)上了(le)高山。巡視四海(hai),自(zi)然(ran)要登(deng)山臨(lin)水,祭(ji)拜天地。置身(shen)高崗,看到的(de)是(shi)“嶞山喬岳(yue)(yue),允猶翕河(he)”。這(zhe)兩句形容的(de)場景(jing)是(shi):俯(fu)瞰群(qun)山,仰望岳(yue)(yue)峰,眺望百川,匯于(yu)(yu)一脈(mo),俯(fu)仰天地之間,山河(he)盡收眼底。這(zhe)是(shi)屬于(yu)(yu)王者的(de)格局,這(zhe)是(shi)巡視河(he)岳(yue)(yue)的(de)眼界,這(zhe)是(shi)頌(song)詩吐(tu)納的(de)氣(qi)勢。

  正因為有(you)了(le)這(zhe)俯仰之間氣勢(shi)如(ru)虹的(de)胸(xiong)襟與(yu)豪情,所以才有(you)最(zui)后的(de)升華之句:“敷天之下,裒時(shi)之對,時(shi)周之命。”這(zhe)是在(zai)說(shuo)(shuo)明(ming)天下的(de)歸心與(yu)時(shi)局的(de)順遂,也是說(shuo)(shuo)國家的(de)天時(shi)地(di)利(li)人和。

  因此,《周頌(song)(song)·般》作為《周頌(song)(song)》詩里的最后一篇,雖(sui)短(duan)小精悍,卻氣(qi)韻沖天,勢比山海。
