  四(si)曰:主(zhu)(zhu)道約,君守近。太上反諸(zhu)己(ji)(ji),其(qi)(qi)次求諸(zhu)人(ren)(ren)(ren)。其(qi)(qi)索之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)彌(mi)(mi)遠者(zhe),其(qi)(qi)推之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)彌(mi)(mi)疏(shu);其(qi)(qi)求之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)彌(mi)(mi)強者(zhe),失之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)彌(mi)(mi)遠。何(he)(he)謂反諸(zhu)已(yi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)?適耳(er)目,節嗜(shi)欲(yu),釋智謀,去巧故,而游意(yi)乎無(wu)窮(qiong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)次,事心乎自(zi)(zi)然(ran)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)涂(tu)。若此則(ze)(ze)無(wu)以(yi)(yi)(yi)害其(qi)(qi)天(tian)(tian)矣。無(wu)以(yi)(yi)(yi)害其(qi)(qi)天(tian)(tian)則(ze)(ze)知(zhi)精,知(zhi)精則(ze)(ze)知(zhi)神,知(zhi)神之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)謂得(de)一。凡彼萬(wan)形(xing),得(de)一後成。故知(zhi)一,則(ze)(ze)應物(wu)變化,闊大淵深(shen),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)測也(ye)(ye)(ye);德行昭美,比(bi)於(wu)日(ri)月,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)息也(ye)(ye)(ye),豪士時之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),遠方(fang)來賓,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)塞(sai)也(ye)(ye)(ye);意(yi)氣(qi)宣通(tong),無(wu)所(suo)(suo)束縛,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)收也(ye)(ye)(ye)。故知(zhi)知(zhi)一,則(ze)(ze)復歸於(wu)樸(pu),嗜(shi)欲(yu)易足,取(qu)養節薄,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)得(de)也(ye)(ye)(ye);離世自(zi)(zi)樂,中情潔白,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)量也(ye)(ye)(ye);威不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能懼,嚴(yan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能恐,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)服(fu)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。故知(zhi)知(zhi)一,則(ze)(ze)可(ke)動作當務,與時周旋,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)極也(ye)(ye)(ye);舉錯(cuo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)數,取(qu)與遵理,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)惑也(ye)(ye)(ye);言無(wu)遺者(zhe),集(ji)肌膚,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)革也(ye)(ye)(ye)。讒人(ren)(ren)(ren)困窮(qiong),賢者(zhe)遂興(xing)(xing),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke)匿也(ye)(ye)(ye)。故知(zhi)知(zhi)一,則(ze)(ze)若天(tian)(tian)地然(ran),則(ze)(ze)何(he)(he)事之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)勝?何(he)(he)物(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)應?譬之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)若御(yu)者(zhe),反諸(zhu)己(ji)(ji),則(ze)(ze)車輕(qing)馬利,致遠復食而不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)倦(juan)。昔上世之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)亡(wang)(wang)主(zhu)(zhu),以(yi)(yi)(yi)罪為(wei)(wei)(wei)在(zai)人(ren)(ren)(ren),故日(ri)殺戮而不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)止,以(yi)(yi)(yi)至(zhi)於(wu)亡(wang)(wang)而不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)悟(wu)。三代之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)興(xing)(xing)王,以(yi)(yi)(yi)罪為(wei)(wei)(wei)在(zai)己(ji)(ji),故日(ri)功(gong)而不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)衰,以(yi)(yi)(yi)至(zhi)於(wu)王。何(he)(he)謂求諸(zhu)人(ren)(ren)(ren)?人(ren)(ren)(ren)同類而智殊,賢不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)肖異,皆巧言辯辭(ci)以(yi)(yi)(yi)自(zi)(zi)防御(yu),此不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)肖主(zhu)(zhu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)亂(luan)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。凡論人(ren)(ren)(ren),通(tong)則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)禮,貴(gui)則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)進,富則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)養,聽則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)行,止則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)好(hao),習則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)言,窮(qiong)則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)受,賤則(ze)(ze)觀(guan)(guan)其(qi)(qi)所(suo)(suo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)。喜之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)守,樂之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)僻,怒之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)節,懼之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)特,哀(ai)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)人(ren)(ren)(ren),苦之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)驗(yan)其(qi)(qi)志。八(ba)觀(guan)(guan)六(liu)驗(yan),此賢主(zhu)(zhu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)論人(ren)(ren)(ren)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。論人(ren)(ren)(ren)者(zhe),又(you)必以(yi)(yi)(yi)六(liu)戚四(si)隱(yin)。何(he)(he)謂六(liu)戚?父、母、兄、弟、妻、子。何(he)(he)為(wei)(wei)(wei)四(si)隱(yin)?交友、故舊(jiu)、邑里(li)、門郭。內則(ze)(ze)用六(liu)戚四(si)隱(yin),外則(ze)(ze)用八(ba)觀(guan)(guan)六(liu)驗(yan),人(ren)(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)情偽、貪鄙、美惡無(wu)所(suo)(suo)失矣。譬之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)若逃(tao)雨污,無(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)而非是。此先圣王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)知(zhi)人(ren)(ren)(ren)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。

  【圜道】

  五曰(yue):天(tian)道(dao)(dao)圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),地(di)道(dao)(dao)方(fang)。圣王法之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),所(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)立(li)上(shang)下(xia)。何(he)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)說天(tian)道(dao)(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)?精氣一(yi)上(shang)一(yi)下(xia),圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)周復(fu)(fu)雜,無(wu)所(suo)稽留(liu),故曰(yue)天(tian)道(dao)(dao)圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)。何(he)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)說地(di)道(dao)(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)方(fang)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)?萬物殊類殊形,皆有(you)分職(zhi)(zhi),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能相為(wei)(wei),故曰(yue)地(di)道(dao)(dao)方(fang)。主(zhu)執圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),臣處(chu)(chu)方(fang),方(fang)圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)易,其(qi)(qi)(qi)國乃(nai)(nai)昌。日夜(ye)一(yi)周,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。月躔二(er)十八宿,軫與(yu)角(jiao)屬,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。精行四(si)時,一(yi)上(shang)一(yi)下(xia),各與(yu)遇,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。物動則(ze)(ze)(ze)萌(meng)(meng),萌(meng)(meng)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)生(sheng),生(sheng)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)長,長而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)大(da),大(da)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)成,成乃(nai)(nai)衰,衰乃(nai)(nai)殺(sha),殺(sha)乃(nai)(nai)藏(zang),圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。云氣西行,云云然,冬(dong)夏不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)輟;水(shui)泉東流,日夜(ye)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)休。上(shang)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)竭,下(xia)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)滿,小為(wei)(wei)大(da),重為(wei)(wei)輕,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。黃帝(di)曰(yue):“帝(di)無(wu)常處(chu)(chu)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),有(you)處(chu)(chu)者(zhe)(zhe)乃(nai)(nai)無(wu)處(chu)(chu)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。”以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)言(yan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)刑蹇,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。人(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)竅(qiao)九,一(yi)有(you)所(suo)居則(ze)(ze)(ze)八虛,八虛甚久則(ze)(ze)(ze)身(shen)斃。故唯而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)聽(ting),唯止;聽(ting)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)視,聽(ting)止:以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)言(yan)說一(yi)。一(yi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)欲留(liu),留(liu)運為(wei)(wei)敗,圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。一(yi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)齊至(zhi)貴,莫(mo)(mo)知(zhi)(zhi)其(qi)(qi)(qi)原,莫(mo)(mo)知(zhi)(zhi)其(qi)(qi)(qi)端,莫(mo)(mo)知(zhi)(zhi)其(qi)(qi)(qi)始,莫(mo)(mo)知(zhi)(zhi)其(qi)(qi)(qi)終,而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)萬物以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)為(wei)(wei)宗(zong)。圣王法之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)令(ling)其(qi)(qi)(qi)性,以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)定(ding)(ding)(ding)其(qi)(qi)(qi)正,以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)出號令(ling)。令(ling)出於主(zhu)口,官(guan)職(zhi)(zhi)受而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)行之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),日夜(ye)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)休,宣通下(xia)究(jiu),瀸於民心(xin),遂於四(si)方(fang),還(huan)周復(fu)(fu)歸,至(zhi)於主(zhu)所(suo),圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)道(dao)(dao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。令(ling)圜(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),則(ze)(ze)(ze)可不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可,善不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)善,無(wu)所(suo)壅(yong)矣(yi)。無(wu)所(suo)壅(yong)者(zhe)(zhe),主(zhu)道(dao)(dao)通也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。故令(ling)者(zhe)(zhe),人(ren)主(zhu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)為(wei)(wei)命也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),賢(xian)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)肖、安(an)危之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)定(ding)(ding)(ding)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。人(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)有(you)形體(ti)四(si)枝(zhi),其(qi)(qi)(qi)能使(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),為(wei)(wei)其(qi)(qi)(qi)感(gan)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)必知(zhi)(zhi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。感(gan)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)知(zhi)(zhi),則(ze)(ze)(ze)形體(ti)四(si)枝(zhi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)使(shi)(shi)矣(yi)。人(ren)臣亦然。號令(ling)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)感(gan),則(ze)(ze)(ze)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)得而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)使(shi)(shi)矣(yi)。有(you)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)使(shi)(shi),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)若無(wu)有(you)。主(zhu)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)者(zhe)(zhe),使(shi)(shi)非有(you)者(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),舜、禹、湯、武皆然。先(xian)王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)立(li)高官(guan)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),必使(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)方(fang),方(fang)則(ze)(ze)(ze)分定(ding)(ding)(ding),分定(ding)(ding)(ding)則(ze)(ze)(ze)下(xia)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)相隱。堯(yao)舜,賢(xian)主(zhu)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),皆以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)賢(xian)者(zhe)(zhe)為(wei)(wei)後(hou),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)肯與(yu)其(qi)(qi)(qi)子孫,猶若立(li)官(guan)必使(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)方(fang)。今世之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)人(ren)主(zhu),皆欲世勿失矣(yi),而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)與(yu)其(qi)(qi)(qi)子孫,立(li)官(guan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能使(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)方(fang),以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)私(si)欲亂之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),何(he)哉(zai)?其(qi)(qi)(qi)所(suo)欲者(zhe)(zhe)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)遠(yuan),而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)所(suo)知(zhi)(zhi)者(zhe)(zhe)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)近也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。今五音之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)無(wu)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)應也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye),其(qi)(qi)(qi)分審(shen)也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。宮(gong)、徵、商、羽、角(jiao),各處(chu)(chu)其(qi)(qi)(qi)處(chu)(chu),音皆調均(jun),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)相違,此(ci)所(suo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)無(wu)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)受也(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)(ye)。賢(xian)主(zhu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)立(li)官(guan)有(you)似於此(ci)。百(bai)官(guan)各處(chu)(chu)其(qi)(qi)(qi)職(zhi)(zhi)、治其(qi)(qi)(qi)事以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)待主(zhu),主(zhu)無(wu)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)安(an)矣(yi);以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)此(ci)治國,國無(wu)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)利矣(yi);以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)此(ci)備患,患無(wu)由至(zhi)矣(yi)。
