if和whether區(qu)別

　　1、or not放在whether之后時，只能用(yong)whether不(bu)用(yong)if。

　　例句：

　　I don’t know whether or not he will come.

　　我(wo)不知道他是不是回來(lai)。

　　注：如(ru)果or not放在whether所引導的(de)從(cong)句句尾，則可以用if來替(ti)換(huan)。

　　I don’t know whether/if he will come or not.

　　我不知道他是不是回來。

　　2、在強調任(ren)意選(xuan)擇時(shi),用(yong)whether…or,此時(shi)不(bu)用(yong)if替換whether。

　　例句：

　　He asked me whether I wanted to go there by train or by bus.

　　他問我(wo)是想乘火車還是坐(zuo)公共(gong)汽車去那里。

　　注：whether和(he)or一(yi)起(qi)還有“不管”之(zhi)意,引導讓步狀語從句。

　　Whether he drives or takes the train, he will be here on time.

　　不管開車來(lai)還是(shi)乘火車來(lai)，他(ta)都會準時(shi)到。

　　3、雖引導賓語(yu)從(cong)句，但為了強調賓語(yu)部(bu)分(fen)，也(ye)可把從(cong)句放在句首，此(ci)時只用(yong)(yong)whether不(bu)用(yong)(yong)if。

　　例句：

　　Whether he will come I am not sure.

　　他是(shi)不是(shi)來(lai)我拿不準。

　　4、從句(ju)作(zuo)介(jie)詞賓語時只用whether不(bu)用if。

　　例句：

　　It depends on whether it will be fine.

　　那得看(kan)是(shi)不是(shi)晴(qing)天。

　　5、作discuss等動詞的賓語時，用(yong)(yong)whether不用(yong)(yong)if。

　　例句：

　　We discussed whether we should close the shop.

　　我們討論是不是該關掉商店(dian)。

　　6、句(ju)子中有(you)if引導(dao)的條件句(ju)，如再(zai)有(you)表示“是否”的賓(bin)語從(cong)句(ju)，用whether不用if。

　　例句：

　　He asked me whether I’d move to New York if I got the job.

　　他問我如果我得到(dao)那(nei)份工作(zuo)是否會搬家到(dao)紐約。

　　7、容易產生(sheng)歧(qi)義時用(yong)whether不用(yong)if來表示“是否”。

　　例句：

　　Please let me know if you need help.

　　如果(guo)你需要幫(bang)助請告訴我。

　　8、如果(guo)賓語(yu)從句(ju)為(wei)否(fou)定句(ju)時(shi)，則只用if不用whether。

　　例句：

　　I don’t know if it won't rain tomorrow..

　　我不知道明天是不是會下(xia)雨。
